Volunteer Information
Eeyore’s Birthday celebrates Austin’s spirit and culture while generating sizable donations for local charities. All this is possible because of volunteers like you. We depend on your cooperative tendencies to make this event a success.
There are 2 volunteer types: General and Medical volunteers.
- If you are not a volunteer, please attend one of the volunteer meetings to sign up for your favorite crew.
- If you are a volunteer, please plan to attend one meeting for important volunteer announcements.
Below are instructions to sign up for our volunteer mailing list.
Meetings
All volunteers must attend at least one meeting. Stay tuned for updated meeting info in April!
TABC Classes
The Friends of the Forest Foundation will pay for TABC classes at Texas Safety Training for any volunteers that are interested in getting certified. The Friends of Forest will reimburse up to $25 towards the cost of TABC certification. All you need to do is provide a receipt and a copy of your certificate at one of the volunteer meetings. Classes may be taken at any TABC certification location.
Medical Volunteer
Your talent and skill are a great asset as medical volunteers. Every year, over a thousand people attend Eeyores. Most visit and have a wonderful time with the sights, sounds, and games.
Occasionally, with this many people in attendance at an event, there is a need for medical attention. This attention can range from first aid: applying band-aids, to more complex assessment of needs. The medical assistance group has been an integral part of Eeyores since its very beginning, and we continue this tradition. As part of our event planning, we work closely with Austin-Travis County EMS to provide seamless patient care for those requiring more comprehensive care. We know that you will have a great time, and look forward to seeing you!
Please use the form below to sign up for Medic shifts this year.
